Booth Rent
#1
I was wondering what some of you are paying for booth rental.  The salon owner has just raised my rent from 150.00 a week to 200.00 a week, that's a 33 percent increase. Need something to go by before talking with her.

I don't booth rent, I work from my home.  But I checked booth rent prices in my area before I opened my home salon.  The salon I was interested in was $80 a week.  I'm in a mid sized down near Oklahoma City.

Thank you for your response. I know this is to high, I'm not in a high end salon. I may just take it home.

I was nervous about opening my own in my home.  I didn't have but a couple of regular clients.  But I posted everything I did on Facebook, and it has literally blown up (in a good way!)  I work a full time job so this is my side hobby, and I am turning people away now (it's only been 9 months!).  I'm confident that if I did this full time, I would be almost full at this point.  Word of mouth is absolutely the best way to get new clients.  Also, make a Facebook page dedicated to your work and your salon.  Highlight your strengths!  And don't set your prices too low.  I made that mistake!

Good luck!  I'm excited for you!
