Repetitive Stress Injuries
#1
Question
Hello everyone! I am a soon-to-be nail tech student changing careers from working heavily with computers. A major problem with both computer work and beauty work is repetitive stress injuries in the wrist. I already have a weakened wrist from previous damage, and was hoping to find advice on ergonomics, damage avoidance, and wrist exercises any of you might use to keep yourselves from wrist injuries working with your hands on a daily basis.

I already know to hold my wrist at a neutral angle as much as possible while I am working, to move from my shoulder, and not to stretch across to the client while I am working, but are there more tips my text book might not have? What about exercises to strengthen and fortify the wrist and hand?

i had to get a wrist/thumb brace. it is hard plastic and it helps me keep my thumb straight and not bend it backwards Smile
