anyone know of any jobs within the beauty industry that aren't in a salon/spa? love the industry but not the nights, weekends or commission salary.

There really is very little that, when out of the salon, wont now involve vast amounts of travel.. always on weekends for shows and classes..

This question is the all time biggest beauty biz career killer there is. For almost everyone it generally comes about a year after entering the field.

The biggest part of the problem is that the vast majority of skincare jobs that are offered require levels of education and experience well above that of licensing requirements.

At this point it's all about how willing you are.
How willing you are to do what you need to do to get where you want to be?

Are you willing to locate and work with a mentor?
Are you willing to learn how to find, develop, and maintain clientele?

Are you willing to learn about anti-aging products and services? Are you willing to learn aging minimization make-up techniques?
Because is the biggest demographic in skin care. It's where the money is if you want it.

Are you willing to learn how to become a Wax Queen?
Are you willing to learn how to do back or chest waxing for men? Brazillions and radical bikini waxing for women?
If you are, find a high end gym and sit outside for the first part of the day to see how much traffic there is. You will be surprised. The best part is that these people are very, very body conscious and want to show it off.
Find a way to set up shop in the gym (it takes very little space and loud noise is no problem with waxing) or, set up as close by as you can.
As services go, it's of the easiest, least expensive to set up, and most loyal if you're very good and very fast.

And then there's spray-on tanning. The big money is there if it's legal in your state to drive to the location use their shower. (They do the clean up and you use their towels.)
Except for the gas the costs are very low. Advertise in the local gyms by giving discounts to the gym desk people Cool

Invest in good training -- if any of these are something you're interested in. They're not not rocket science but none of this is as it's not nearly as it looks.

My Best To You Always --
Chris
