IBD new gel polish review
#1
First of all, I want to thank IBD: All the Gelac I had bought had dried up (most of them before I ever got to use them) and after contacting IBD they sent me their brand new gel polish line, Just Gel Polish, as replacements.

So for my review: the colors are absolutely beautiful and go on great. Today was the first time I removed them from one of my clients and they came off so nicely! I filed the top coat a little and kept her cotton/foils on for maybe 10 minutes and every bit of the Just Gel Polish pushed off easily with no residue left behind. I also like that unlike their Gelac line, this new stuff can cure in an LED light.

Thanks IBD! If anyone's looking for a good, inexpensive gel polish line, BeautyWest has this for $7.95 a bottle!

$7.95!? Aargh! That's almost half of what I paid for my seven Gelac bottles that dried up. I don't know if that makes me want to try Just Gel or just makes me crazier about the Gelac.

Does anyone know if this can be combined with others' base and top coats?

Nancy, if you contact them they will replace it. Even if you threw your Gelac away, all you need is the receipt that proved you purchased them. call IBD, they'll help you out!

I did. No response.

I still have a couple of the bottles left but the receipt(s) are long gone. Maybe I can find them electronically.

I use the IBD with the Shellac base and top. I LOVE it. It really hangs in there, and their fluorescent colors are amazing. I just picked up 6 more colors through premiernail. Cannot wait to try them out. As far as base and top goes, I always use shellac brand. I like that there is no filing on the surface of the gels before soaking them, and my clients prefer that too. I use the OPI soak off wraps and pure acetone. 7 minutes later, they practically slide off the nail. No pushing or chiseling away needed.

I hadn't even thought about looking through the forums for better pricing until earlier today. It's a long story, but the place I was employed always went though premiernail or industrysource, so when I was let go in March and decided to booth rent with other fellow employees who were also fired, I just went with what I was used to. Believe me, there is a nice long post I'm going to write at some point today chronicling the end of the world at my former workplace, and the phoenix rising of the new shop we opened this past Wednesday. Just as soon as I get this house cleaned up LOL.

I also LOVE the IBD Just Gel Polish.... I found it stays on equally as well as the other top contenders... and is as easy to remove as the same top contenders. I highly recommend them.

We nail pros are a total crack up.... we never (or at least very few of us) use an entire line of products from top to bottom. We use a little bit of this and little bit of that.

I love CND Shellac no matter what gel polish brand I am using. And after months of dinking around I have managed to come up with a fool proof application of it for over standard polish that makes it last really long too so I don't feel the need to toss out my collections of OPI, Essie and China Glaze.

I love doing nails and hair, nothing makes me happier than seeing a woman walk out the door feeling pretty.
Hair, nails and waxing, I am a triple threat on two legs!!

What is your foolproof application for it over standard - that you mentioned above?

My guess would be Shellac base, dry wipe, apply polish and let dry 5-10 minutes, then Shellac top coat. I've had great luck with Shellac top coat over polish. I've used others (Gelish, NSI, Star Universal, Nailite) but the Shellac works best.
