I am just curious I know the nail tech says it's like a dental tool, but does anybody uses a tool like this to clean the nail plate?, if so what's the name of it?, looks interesting .
Thank you for your answers Big Grin

it looks like a dental too. I have several dental tools I got from a local dental office that I use for nail art tools and one looks similar to that one.

You can get it at Sally's. It's a cuticle pusher with a rasp on one end for preventing ingrown toenails. I use it all the time.

The one thing you do have to be aware when dealing with some dental tools is that some have very sharp pointy ends. I've taken those that I get like that and dulled the ends, once done, they make great pedi tools for getting under the corners of ingrowing toenails so they can be lifted and clipped.

I use one like that, too. The person who gave it to us called it an "excavator", but I've heard it called other "dental" names. I was wary at first, but I wouldn't use anything else now for a manicure. It curves and hugs the nail, removes a lot of cuticle and doesn't scrape nail layers off like some flat-edged tools. I was lucky enough to find them sold at zamberg.com and highly recommend it.

It's called a curette and it's a fantastic bit of kit.
Make sure you get one made of stainless steel.
