Also, there is a book you could check out, I think this is the same one Mindy spoke about at the Long Island networking event yesterday.

It can definitely take patience and time, but it's important to set your work apart by investing in yourself too, so try finding nail events that you can attend, they truly are worth their weight in gold. Big Grin

can you get a cell phone and put your number on your ads, and flyers, because i think all your advertising thats going on, when they call in your boss is taking them??? also can you offer something to them, only from you, can you buy small gifts and put in your ad, receive a homemade soap if book with you.

Yeah it sounds shady...so people are actually calling in due to your advertising, yes? And instead your Boss takes them, right? Pffty...put your number on the ads, hun, don't let her steal your clients. I would so not work with her, JMHO.

You definitely need to have YOUR cell number on any advertising you do. That way they call you directly to book the appt and your boss can't take any of them. I had this same thing happen to me and I finally got business cards printed with my cell number on them and asked my personal clients to call that number to book any appts. Worked like a charm!!

It wouldn't matter what ideas you have if the owner is taking all your call ins. Was this part of your agreement when you started? Is it in writing? this is so wrong on so many levels. If anything it should be split, by taking turns.

If you don't get your own phone and put your number on what you hand out or advertise on it won't matter what you do to bring in clients, she will take them all.

I hope you can get this worked out. If not, then you need to find another place to work at.
