Taking the big leap!!!
#1
I am quitting my day job!! Doing nails and waxing full time (2 part time jobs).
I'm both excited and nervous but my heart tells me that this is the way to go. I can no longer stand being miserable!

I did the very same thing two years ago. I don't regret it a bit. I am 85% booked and very happy. Good luck to you.

I am an office manager. Been there for almost a decade. Got into nails a few years ago.

Congrats!!! I just want to do nails and waxing all day long too! While I like what I do full-time, I'm just not happy. I'm nervous about taking the jump, but you've just inspired me, so thank you! All the best and much success for you on your new endeavor!

Hey Chrissy,
I actually got 2 part time jobs. One waxing, one nails. I also do nail freelance. So hopefully, as the song goes, "I will survive!".

Hey Tashawna!

I'm so proud of you girl! I'm rooting for you and pray it all goes well with no regrets! I have been pondering ditching my full-time consulting gig. The money is sooo good, but I am miserable. Doing this for 10 years+, I'm ready for a change. My true passion lies with nails and waxing. I found a girl who is teaching a waxing course in Orlando, but not at the show. So I'm gonna take a class with her on Saturday morning, which I'm hoping will help me perfect my Brazilian and Brow techniques. Once I have that under my belt, I'm gonna look for a suite space and just jump out there and "fake it til I make it!" Lol.....

Are you going to Premier? If so, we must connect at the networking event!

Girl I've quit my job!!! No Premiere for me! LOL. But, hey you're not too far away. If you end up coming up to NYC just give me a heads up. I'm supposed to head down to DC at some point this Summer but with new jobs, not sure how/when. You on FB? Hit me up there. Thanks for the support too, I am feeling good and nervous. I've been at my job for 13 years so I know the feeling but I feel like saving to take this leap was how to enjoy + make more money. I know the first few months will be heard and I don't expect to see any real money until next year. So I'm also going to sign up to work for another company to have in the pocket. I will literally be working for like 5 companies, but at least I'll be doing what I love and networking. One of my primary concerns though is I'll be taking care of myself. Its a terrible feeling that affects everything when you walk into a place everyday to be there for 8-9 hours and be miserable. I've suffered headaches, stomach issues, chest pains, loss of sleep, and weight gain. Not worth any money...

I understand, BELIEVE ME. I'm a single parent (no child support) so this is a big leap. I'm actually working for 4-5 people just ( at different times) in hopes of making ends meet. I feel that by this time next year I'll be better financially.

Good for you! I know it's going to work out for you! You have my support 100%. When I come to NY, I'll come check you out!

I'm definitely going to hit you up on FB. I am Love Those Toes Mobile Nail Spa on FB. I'm coming to the networking event in Long Island so I will definitely let you know prior so we can connect. And I am planning to come to NY over the summer so I'm sure we'll connect at some point. Yeah, I feel you on the stress from work, anxiety, weight gain...it's not worth it. I have such a strong feeling that things are going to work out, I'm just saving up and passing out as many cards as I can so when the times comes, I will be able to make that move. You're going to be so happy when the money starts rolling in. From what I hear, there's nothing like working for yourself!

Actually I'm not working at any salons Celeste. A spa, a waxing service, a mobile manicure, and my freelance work which also includes an event spa company. Honestly I may be working a few other angles as well. I'm a bit of a hustler Wink
