What nail art is big in the US at the moment?
#1
We're in the UK and are finding that neon colours are pretty big for summer. What about the US?

Thanks.

I have been using the neons frequently, but I think that the hottest colors right now are the Hot pink and Orange. Clients who have Never used an orange color are Loving it this year! I am Always using Glitter gels too and the hottest ones would have to be Diamond glitter gel (a white & silver combo), Orange Crush and Lemon Burst.

According to 2012 nail websites & polish/gel polish colors that are just coming out, pastel colors, e.g., creamy blues, lilacs, blues, & greens are very hot...spring 2012 trends on the runways are pastels and new polish colors reflect that. Also, super glitter polish is very hot with bigger/longer bits of glitter

Yeah we are seeing the pastels too! Chunky glitter is proving popular too. So thank you for the feedback :-)

I agree with what everyone's posted so far. I'm seeing alot of accented ring fingers.....either both hands or just on one hand. I call it nail art for the timid Smile It's been around forever of course, but clients are so excited to think it's a new trend this year. I've been doing tons of that this spring. I'm in Canada (Toronto).

Laura - had to laugh at your post....people thinking it's the new trend. I've been doing that one for about 3 years, but it's always funny when a client walks in and says she wants to do the new thing everyone is doing with one finger different.

I've done a ton of that this year - most of my clients want one finger different on each hand, oh and lots of lots of glitter fades. That's probably my most requested service other than just regular gel polish. Im in So. California

Sherrie, I know right? They all think it's something new. I just smile and nod. Actually for the die hard p&w clients, I'm happy they are choosing to do it, it's getting them out of their comfort zone and expanding their minds!!

I had a young lady going to Prom come in with a picture she printed off of the computer of what she wanted like they show the hairstylists how they want their updo to look. The picture was of a hand with nails painted a very sheer light peach and the ring finger painted with a gold glitter polish. She was very serious when she asked if I could do that. I did my best not to laugh but held up my own hands which of course had my ring fingers polished/designs different and said, "I think I can handle it!"

Laura, It always amazes me how many of my clients are SO conservative and just don't want to step out of the box!! If they usually wear red, they act like choosing pink is life changing!
They are so afraid of a little color, but I always try to get them to do something different. One baby step at a time. LOL

A lot of our nail techs are posting pictures on FB with the ring finger a different colour and nail art. You're right, it's a way for them to dip their toe into new waters and experience something different instead the same old P&W.

Our nail techs love the 'Mad' clients, the ones who don't care what they have as long as it looks crazy and colourful :-)

And we are starting to see more people wanting these nails too:

(created by one of our customer nail techs Cheryl Hammond)

(And these NEON nails by another customer nail tech Karen Stockton)

But it's certainly seems to be the younger generation that loves the bling more:-)

Hi sueefd, they are the original product for Inverted Application of acrylics to the natural nail and have been used in UK salons for almost 12 years.

We were featured in the UK's largest trade nail magazine 'SCRATCH' prior to the Olympia beauty show (where we demonstrated on the SCRATCH stand) back in 2010 and here is a copy of the article written by Nailympics Judge and SCRATCH columnist Martin John, it will help to explain the product and the advantages of using it:

http://www.easynail.co.uk/images/scratcharticle.pdf

I would just like to confirm that Inverted Moulds are Unique compared to other products you might have seen because IM's are NOT removed from the finished nail. That's why we can do so much more with them than with other products.

You might also find these examples of the kind of nails you can do with IM's interesting:

Feel free to add us on FaceBook if you want to see lots more examples of nails done by techs using IM's :-)

Cheers
