Are Replacement Bulbs Universal?
#1
Does anyone know if you can put Phillip bulbs in any UV lamp or are the bulbs make/model specific?

You should be able to use a Phillips bulb in any MAGNETIC ballast lamp. They will not work in an electronic ballast lamp.

How do I know if the lamp has magnetic ballasts? Can you mentioned a few that have this type of ballast?

Without opening up your lamp you can tell by the weight of your lamp... magnetic ballasts are quite heavy... if you can't tell, by the weight, when you open it up, the magnetic ones should have 4 seperate larger (apprx 1.5" x 1.5") ballasts... the electronic ones will have what looks like a computer chip "board" with wires leading to it.... hard to explain, but the obvious difference is the weight of the lamp. Where did you buy your lamp ??

Have not purchased a lamp yet but thought it might be good to get one that I could replace the bulbs with Phillip ones.

I have an electronic ballast light from Star Nails and the bulbs burn out QUICKLY (about 1.5 months)! The magnetic ballasts in my old Star Nails lamp lasted for like 3 months! It's bananas!

So will the bulbs from manicuresthatlast.com work with my CND lamp? Just wondering b/c State has CND bulbs 4 for 39.95 and manicuresthatlasts.com has 9watt bulbs for $5.00. Im all about a better price but want my lamp to cure my shellac and eco.
