It's a bit like waxing, but instead of wax, you use a mixture of sugar and lemon juice that's been boiled so it's like caramel or taffy. It's a Middle Eastern technique and they say it's better than waxing because it doesn't pull off skin the way waxing can. You can find the mixture in Middle Eastern stores and I think The Body Shop even sells it.

I have been doing sugaring for 10+ years. It is the consistency of honey and is made of sugar,lemon & water. It only adheres to "dead" cells so will not stick to skin and it will not burn the skin like hot wax can. I use Alexandria Professional Brand....
