Hello ladies, I have recently enrolled in school to become a Nail Tech and I couldn't be more excited. I have wanted to do nails since the first time I saw my Aunt get hers done when I was about 8-9 years old,
I'm now 27. Life always got in the way, it was either because I was working, getting my BA, or not having the funds. But FINALLY I am in school and working my towards my nail tech license!

I have a couple of questions and thought "who better to ask?"

I am going to be having my first child and am supposed to be a stay at home mom, but since enrolling in school I want to fit nails into the equations, any stay at home moms still able to work as a nail tech?

Also, what is your favorite nail products? My school uses Young Nails which I love! But I'm curious to know what others use.

Thanks and sorry this was so long!
Congrats and Welcome! I'm not a stay at home mom so I can't help you with that one, but I did want to extend a hello. I went to a YN school in Chicago, they make excellent products and I'd advise you to make friends with their youtube channel ,along with some others like:

As for products, there are a LOT of awesome products out there but my BIGGEST piece of advice for a newbie would be SPEND YOUR MONEY ON CLASSES NOT PRODUCT!! When I was learning I bought so much stuff in an effort to be great when in fact the issue was with me not OPI, YN, EZ Flow, etc... Not until I found this board did I learn that you may do about 100 sets of nails before they are any good.

You've picked a great career. It won't be easy, money will NOT jump out at you right away, it's NOT a quick hustle, there will be blood, sweat and (in my case) tears, but I love what I do, and I hope you will as well. Smile
