I have combined my two loves together for my entry.  (Nails & sewing)

All the paints that I have used are various colors by "Apple Barrel Colors". Some are

blended together with white for the highlights and some with black for the shading.

First, I painted the free edge (1/4 of the tip) with white, then yellow, using a large brush.

This technique makes the desired color to be more vibrant and true when painting over a dark color.

Next, I painted 2 coats of black on the remaining part of the tip.  (again, with a large brush.)

Then, with a 10/0 size brush, I started in with the sewing notions (white underneath again) then adding shading and highlights to them.

Next, I painted on the numbers and lines on the tape measure.

Lastly, I used a top coat to seal and add shine to the nails!
