NO Entries will be accepted prior to July 1, 2002

ALL ENTRIES:

1. Contest open to all professional nail technicians and students (Enhancement 3 ONLY), licensed or residing in unlicensed states or countries. 
2. Winners of the 2001 Strut Your Stuff contest at BeautyTech are NOT eligible to enter the category they won previously. This includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd place previous winners ONLY, honorable mention winners may enter in the category they placed in prior contest(s).
3. If winner resides outside of the continental US, every effort will be made to ship your due prizes. However, due to high shipping costs and shipping restrictions, you may:
   1. Receive an alternative prize.
   2. Winner will be given the option of being responsible for shipping costs.
   3. Winner, after all other options have been attempted, may need to forfeit the actual prize.
4. TWO entries per entrant / per category. Entry fees apply to EACH entry. ** If any one contestant places more than once in the same category, recognition ONLY will be given for the lower placement. (Example: Contestant places 1st and 3rd in the Mixed Media.) Prize for the lower placement will be awarded to the next lowest score. This includes Honorable Mention placement.
5. Entries limited to 60 per category.
6. ALL entries may be scanned into a computer, directly from nails or tips, using any commercially available scanner, computer and software. Scans from photographs ARE acceptable. Digital photographs ARE acceptable. No points will be deducted for using one method over another. HOWEVER, digital photography and direct scans give a cleaner, more detailed result. Sample Scans HERE
7. Scans MUST be done at 300 DPI, 100%, final size maximum 640 x 480 pixels, saved as JPEG file only. Sample Scans HERE. Reduce the image before transmitting to maximum 640 x 480 pixels. A thumbnail view will be created by WWWeb Services from the original and linked to the full size entry for judging purposes.
8. Touchup permitted using any commercially available graphics program.
9. REQUIRED:
   1. Enhancement 1 & 2--
      1. COMPETITION STYLE - Deep smile lines & C-Curve.
      2. THREE photos: 
         1. Close-up of 4 nails - 2 painted with red cream polish
         2. "Presentation" such as would be suitable for a magazine cover. 
         3. "Down the barrel: shot. Click for sample
      3. Nails may be any length and shape.  Shape and/or length should be "attractive".
      4. "Step-by-step" essay detailing what type of enhancement (acrylic, gel, wrap) used as well as tip brand (color -if white tip used) and product color, scanner/camera information, editing software information.
      5. Entry Form electronically submitted.
      6. Headshot of entrant in electronic format: head & shoulders only, saved as a JPEG file no larger than 320 x 240 pixels. Reduction, if needed, will be done by WWWeb Services. This file should be sent in the same manner as the actual entry (see # 10).
   2. Enhancement 3--
      1. SALON STYLE - normal smile lines & C-Curve, no extra points for deep competition style smile lines or C-Curves.
      2. Two photos:
         1. Close-up of 4 nails - 2 painted with red cream polish
         2. "Down the barrel: shot. Click for sample
      3. "Step-by-step" essay detailing what type of enhancement (acrylic, gel, wrap) used as well as tip brand (color -if white tip used) and product colors, canner/camera information, editing software information.
      4. Nails may be any length and shape.  Shape and/or length should be "normal Salon length".
      5. Entry Form electronically submitted.
      6. Headshot of entrant in electronic format: head & shoulders only, saved as a JPEG file no larger than 320 x 240 pixels. Reduction, if needed, will be done by WWWeb Services. This file should be sent in the same manner as the actual entry (see # 10).
   3. Mixed Media--
      1. THEMED REQUIRED: "Patriotic" (any country) OR "Dog Days of Summer"
      2. TWO photos: 
         1. Close-up of 4 nails, 
         2. "THEMED Presentation" such as would be suitable for a magazine cover
      3. NOTHING hanging off the nail plate, NOTHING more than 1/4" high from the nail plate.
      4. Nails may be any length and shape.  Shape and/or length should be fitting of your design.
      5. "Step-by-step" essay detailing paint colors, brushes, airbrush guns, acrylic/gel brands, powder colors, etc, product line(s) used, scanner/camera information, editing software information.
      6. Any type of art is acceptable: flat, air brush, color acrylic/gel, stones, glitter, except NO Decals. Mix and match or one style is acceptable - no points will be deducted for one style art (eg: 100% hand painted)
      7. MUST be Original Art, no obscene, objectionable or copyrighted (ie: Disney characters, professional sports logos, personality likenesses) material will be accepted. No Decals will be allowed.
      8. Entry Form electronically submitted.
      9. Headshot of entrant in electronic format: head & shoulders only, saved as a JPEG file no larger than 320 x 240 pixels. Reduction, if needed, will be done by WWWeb Services. This file should be sent in the same manner as the actual entry (see # 10).
10. Each image & headshot shall be submitted electronically by email attachment or postal mail 1.44 MB PC floppy disk to the address below. Disk(s) to be returned ONLY with postage paid envelope as supplied by entrant.
11. The entry form will be electronically submitted if paying by check OR PayPal .
12. Winners "step-by-step" or procedures will be displayed on the winners page. ONLY email versions of "step-by-step" will be accepted and placed online.
13. WWWeb Services is not responsible for entry materials that are lost or damaged in transmission or shipping.
14. Entries become the property of WWWeb Services.
15. Entry is assumed permission for WWWeb Services to use scans online for viewing, judging and promotional purposes.
16. Winners will be announced to all major beauty trade publications.
17. All  entries will be considered final when all materials have been received by BeautyTech (entry form, scan(s), headshot, and essays). You will be notified if your entry was or was not one of the 1st 60 in the category you have entered in.
18. Scans, signed entry form and entry fees must be received by August 15, 2002 MIDNIGHT EST
    NO EXCEPTIONS
19. Late entries will not be judged or returned (unless pre-paid postage is supplied).
20. All entries will be displayed online, at beautytech.com in the contest area on August 16th, 2002.
21. All judging sheets will be emailed to the entrant within two weeks of the close of the contest.
22. A 1-10 100 point total scoring system will be used. 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.
23. In the event of a tie, representatives from participating companies will be asked to judge the tied entries, based on the same criteria as the regular judges, to decide the winner.
24. All judges decisions are final.
25. Each entrant will receive one certificate of participation.
26. In the event insufficient entries are received, WWWeb Services retains the right to extend the contest at their discretion.

Entrance fee: $15.00 (US$) per entry. Payable by PayPal or check/money order ONLY. PayPal link will be on page AFTER you submit your entry form.
