First, I masked off the wave. then I masked off a straight line for
the horizon. I airbrushed in clouds with fluorescent blue just on edges.
Then sprayed in Flamingo pink over the left side and fluorescent yellow
over
the right side.
Next I reversed the horizon mask and airbrushed a dark line with
opaque blue for the water horizon edge. Next lines were airbrushed across
the nails for the ripples or small waves. Floursecent yellow was sprayed
over this to reflect the yellow sky.
Next was the wave. Using my Medea master shield, I masked off the
front edge of the wave and airbrushed opaque blue for the left side of the
wave. I added black into the brush to add shading under the curl and at
the
bottom of the wave. I repositioned the master shied and sprayed
fluorescent
blue for the right side of the wave. I used a cloud stencil and sprayed
white for the wave's foam. I then took my San Francisco nail tiny detail
brush and dotted more white into the foam area and into the clouds in the
sky. With the same brush and fluorescent blue, I gently stroked up into
the
foam from the bottom. then I added a white edge to the top of the wave and
mixed ultamarine blue and black to add detail in the waves shaded area.
to the left side I added a tropical plant leaf. Using a stencils and
dark green with black on the edges. I mixed dark green and black and added
stems in the leaves. Last was adding the sea birds silhouette in the sky
with a stencil and black.
